Chapter Three : Part Two
Sen’s back hits the hard surfaces behind him as the half breed steps in close, slender fingers sliding up to grasp in milky brown locks and pull the other teenager down for a hard kiss. Small glass like claws slip around the petite girl’s waist and pull her flush against his body as the kiss deepens. Reluctantly breaking away a few long moments later, iridescent eyes re-open to meet red and she grins without easing her grip in the hybrid’s hair. “Totally the best way to start the day…” “I agree.” Sen smiles before pulling back with an annoyed look on his face. “So apparently Aduel tried to tell my Dad that all those rumors were true and he said a bunch of other bullshit to him as well and Dad got pissed and got Aduel really fired up. Dad actually threatened him. My Dad… threatening someone… he never does that. He also told me to watch out for any retaliation on Aduel’s part and to go to the headmaster if he so much as looks at me wrong.” Rolling her eyes, Samara pulls away and moves around Sen towards her locker. “I so wouldn’t be surprised if Mister Tightass does something.” She scoffs, reaching in and pulling her tie free. “At least your Dad gave you the okay to go to the Head. I can’t believe that asshole actually got your Dad so pissed that he threatened him.” Her gaze shifts to the side as she swings the tie around her neck and she smiles… “Your Father, yeah, I’d buy that one but your Dad…? Makes me wonder what the hell he said to him to get him that mad.” Twisting the tie in a knot, she begins straightening the material out. “God, this is so why my daddy always has to be the one to go in to these stupid things, and mine’s tonight too…” Sen follows her and goes to his own locker nearby. “I talked to Dad later on last night too after those two had gotten their… energy out. It was bad, Aduel pretty much told Dad that he and Father have no clue how to raise me, I’m a terrible disruption and that I’m having sex with you all over the school. Dad asked him why he was taking the word of fifteen year olds. Aduel basically kept saying the same stupid bull over and over and when Dad finally flat out said ‘ok then tell me what I should do if you know everything’, he didn’t do squat but complain more. He even insulted Dad under his breath in Angelic because he didn’t think he could understand it. Eventually Aduel got fired up enough that he actually called Dad a Lower and then Dad spent the rest of the time putting him in his place in Angelic.” The hybrid laughs, looking over with a sly grin as he puts his tie on. “But I did find out some interesting information though. Do you know why Aduel teaches here?” Samara makes a disgusted face. “God, what the hell?” she says as she finishes tying off her uniform, closing the locker door and turning to lean up against it a moment later. “Who does he think I am? Having sex all over the school? As if” Samara snorts, crossing her arms just under her chest. She really wants to punch Jacen hard for that rumor. Aside from the one time they fooled around in that locked classroom, nothing even remotely like that has happened anywhere, let alone in school. But now her teacher thinks she’s doing it too? Christ, if that gets to her dad, she’ll never hear the end of it. Fuck wanting, she’s probably going to kick that loser’s ass for it anyway. The scowl on her face quickly shifts as clear crimson meet her gaze and she returns the grin. “Are you kidding? Of course I want to know…” Sen finishes with his tie and moves close to Samara to lean in, speaking low. “Well apparently, Aduel hates anything not Angelic so much that he started some shit where ever he was because he thinks the Angels are better dying off than mixing with us so-called Lowers. He actually wanted to overthrow Central but got turned in instead and they told him he could be killed or do this, teaching the children that that he hates in order to redeem himself and get back on the Council. All his magic and his weapon are locked and the Headmaster has all the codes for the binds.” The hybrid laughs. “So we’re his punishment. Dad told him if he wasn’t happy with it he could easily arrange for the other option.” “Ho, shit” Samara grins up at Sen. “Okay that is way too rich, seriously. The circle would totally die to get that information, hell –half the school would because of how much everyone hates that jer-“ A quiet clearing of a throat interrupts the half breed’s words and pulls both teenager’s attention to their sides. Standing at the edge of the line of lockers, nervous tainted hazel eyes meet both iridescent and crimson. “I need to talk to you… both” Jacen says reluctantly, pulling an immediate scowl to Samara’s face. “What the hell for?” the half breed says angrily, “So you can make more shit up to spread to your so-called friends? Fuck off.” “Look, about that, Mara…” the teenager tries, refusing to meet Sen’s eyes. “I just wanted to say so-“ “Say what? Sorry? It’s a little late for that you prick” Samara smirks, pushing herself away from the locker and making a motion towards Jacen. The hybrid reaches out and wraps glass tipped fingers around her arm to pull her back and she quickly yanks herself away. “Fuck this, I’m going to class.” The white and black haired teenager storms past the half breed, knocking him hard in the arm and pushing him back a bit before turning the corner and moving swiftly out into the hall. Jacen slides his arm up rubs at the spot she’d hit before turning back to the other teen. “Look, I really am sorry… about what I did. I thought about it all last night and I … I know it was wrong. I didn’t mean for it to get so … you know, out of hand…” Sen sighs. “Jacen… I appreciate it, I just wish it never would have happened in the first place. I know you don’t do this crap on purpose for the most part but goddamn, it creates a hell of a lot of bull we have to deal with later. Aduel even got on my Dad about it pretty bad.” Jacen looks down defeated as the hybrid continues. “It’s not just you, I did some pretty crappy things too. I messed with you the first time, I messed with you again when you got on Samara and I went into your head the other day without permission. I’m sorry for that and I regret it.” “No” the teenager says with a half hearted smile, “I deserved all that really… it’s just, I dunno. It’s not like I mean to come off like an asshole or anything, it’s just everyone’s always falling over me right? But none of them really want to know me. Samara’s the only one that never got all… shit you know how they are. Like giggly and stupid and crap. Even the guys do it too, well…” Jacen smirks, “maybe not so gay, but pretty damn close. Anyway I always went for her because not only is she cute as all hell, she’s not anything like all these other kids. Like, she’s got a brain on her and can think for herself. Not to mention she’s got really big ti-” the half breed catches himself and laughs nervously before continuing. “Anyway, then when you came at me, you were the first guy I’d met in forever who I thought might actually be able to see me cause you looked just as good, so I guess I got a bit carried away because when I saw you two getting closer… Well I couldn’t understand why Mara was going for you so fast when I’d been trying for years or why you were going for her after you’d made a move on me… I got jealous and I guess when I’m jealous I can do some… pretty stupid shit…” he looks down. “We all do stupid shit.” Sen smirks. “I think you try too hard, Jacen, to get people to like you when they would normally. Samara always said that you were a decent guy, you just get so caught up in who does or doesn’t like you that you can’t see past it sometimes. I think you tried so hard to be with her that that’s all it was anymore, simple friendship just wasn’t an option and she hates being backed into a corner or she’ll fight her way out.” The hybrid grins to him self. He loved that about her. “It was literally only this week we figured out we were interested in each other like that. I had no clue she felt that way until she threw me down and kissed me. But I mean look, it took us months to get there, it wasn’t instant and neither of us were trying to get down the other’s pants from day one. I honestly have not been down her pants, we haven’t really done anything with each other yet.” Sen rolls his eyes. “Yeah I hear ya on the giggling… half the time I think it’s because there’s something wrong with me and I can’t see it. When I went after you it was my first ever social outing, literally. Before that week I had never really left my house and I was home schooled. My Father is incredibly over protective and I never interacted with anyone my own age. I didn’t know what I was doing, it seemed like fun and you took it far more serious than it was intended. Yeah, you are good looking, I’m not going to lie to you, but you came on way too strong and I wasn’t about that. Jacen, you were my first kiss, ever… so when I say I didn’t know what I was doing, I really didn’t know what I was doing. Father does a lot of that shit I did to you all the time because he enjoys watching people squirm. The only one who can see through it is my Dad. I didn’t realize how powerful that could be and I’m sorry.” Jacen smiles. “It’s cool. Like I said, I deserved it anyway so I don’t blame you.” He laughs lightly, pulling long fingers up to scratch at the back on ebony hair. “It’s just hard to imagine someone like you not being… you know, out there. With how you look and act and stuff, you seem like you’d really know what the hell you were doing…” The teenager shakes his head, looking a bit embarrassed. “I guess I can’t talk there though since… well, you know since you went in to my head and all. But, I know you’re right about Mara. It’s just, like I said – I get kind of stupid about things. I didn’t want to piss her off so bad but I guess I really fucked it up there. I hope she’ll be able to forgive me cause I really don’t want to lose her as a friend… I mean, I always thought of her as a friend anyway, even if I do have a funky way of showing it at times… ” Apologetic tainted hazel eyes meet clear crimson and he puts his hand out, “Anyway, so are we cool…?” Sen grabs Jacen’s hand and smiles. “Yeah, as long as we both stop being dumbasses, we’ll be fine. You’re on your own with Samara though.” He laughs. “I doubt I could really sway her when she has her mind set. I’m sure she’ll ask me what was said and I’ll tell her but you have to do the rest. Give it a little time and then just try talking to her like you did to me, honest and without the attitude, and I’m sure she’ll understand. She’s hard headed, but she’s not a brick wall.” Shaking the hybrid’s hand before pulling away, Jacen laughs. “You got it. No more of that for me and I hear you. I don’t expect you to do anything as far as Mara goes. I’ll do my best to redeem myself a bit there. Hopefully she’ll see that I mean it and give me another chance.” The half breed sighs before tucking his fingers into his pockets, “She is hardheaded that’s for sure. But it’s one of those things I like about her … “ he smiles. “I’ll take your advice and giver her some time… and thanks Sen.” Turning around, Jacen disappears around the corner, moving out into the hall. Smiling, Sen closes his locker and grabs his bag. He knew Jacen had it in him to be decent, he saw that when he was in his head, it was just a matter of him getting over himself and realizing what he wanted people to see versus what he was portraying. The hybrid turns to make his way to the stairs and up to class just as First bell rings. Iridescent eyes meet clear crimson as Sen steps through the threshold and the hybrid moves swiftly towards the desk while the rest of the class is shuffling to their seats as well. Samara’s about to open her mouth when she’s silenced immediately by a very angry looking Angel storming into the room. “SIT DOWN NOW!” Aduel practically spits, sending all kids flying towards their desks just as second bell rings. “SEN! To my desk, now!” Samara’s eyes widen and turn to briefly meet the hybrid’s before he rises and makes his way to the Angel’s desk. Silver eyes stare daggers at the teenager as he stops before him and Aduel motions to the desk and a single piece of paper sitting directly at his front. “That paper, copy it on the board.” He demands, as red eyes travel down to stare at the bandaged wrapped right hand of the Angel. “My request was simple” the older man says coldly, pulling the hybrid’s eyes back up. “Copy it onto the board.” Sen snorts, barely holding his laughter in, speaking very quietly so only Aduel can hear. “Oh Dad, how I love you…” His crimson gaze shifts to meet angry silver. “And my Dad is basically a pacifist. Maybe next time you’ll learn to not fuck with my parents.” Before Aduel can retort he grabs the paper off his desk and walks up to the board. Grabbing a piece of chalk, he begins writing the lesson out. “BE SILENT” the teacher yells out behind Sen. “Eyes up on the board! I expect all equations written out in detail. Notes and all work shown. Pens only and no mistakes. Any mess ups will be re-written immediately.” Aduel ignores the class’ collective protesting groans and continues. “All work will be done by period end – PENS DOWN!” he interrupts as a few students had begin to lift their pens. “You may NOT begin until Sen has finished. I will deduct points for anyway I see attempting to get ahead and I will fail you, should you not finish by third bell. Any points I deduct from each individual will be added up and deducted from Sen’s final score as any delays caused in this lesson are his responsibility as my elected aide.” With that the Angel seats himself down and crosses his arms over his chest with a small smug smile on his lips. [Holy shit] Samara’s voice reaches out to the hybrid. [Your dad must have really pissed him off, christ] Sen effectively laughs aloud as he continues writing. [Well, Dad basically threatened him and then shoved in his face that he really can’t do anything about it. Don’t worry though, this isn’t shit, I’ll go talk to the Head afterwards and anything he tries to do will be taken care of. He can’t actually fail anyone.] The hybrid knows he shouldn’t, but he just can’t help himself. Sen touches Aduel’s mind, easily making his way past the Angel’s weak barriers. [Get over yourself. Things would have been fine if you hadn’t insulted my Dad and everything he loves. My fathers are damn good parents and they love me and do everything they can for me. I have no problem with authority, Sir. I have a problem with the fact that no matter what I do, I will always be filth to you. If you’d just calm the fuck down about it, we’d have no problem.] “How dare you! I will NOT have a something of your decent, let alone a student dictate how I should or should not act!” the Angel’s voice startles pretty much the entire class before the student’s expressions shift to confusion. Pushing himself from his chair, Aduel turns on the hybrid and closes the gap between them immediately. Reaching out with his non bandaged hand, he snatches the papers free of Sen’s hand very roughly. “Get out of my classroom, I have had enough!” all eyes stare up in shock and surprise as the Angel rages before them. “OUT!” Sen simply smiles. “Sure thing, Mister Aduel.” He gives the Angel a small wave before turning around and catching iridescent eyes on the way out. [Hey, I’m going to the Head, I’ll tell you what happened in Weapons, bring my bag.] “Samara!” Sen hears from within the room as he’s halfway down the hall. “Copy this on the board, now!”
![]() Waiting patiently Sen leans back in the office couch while he waits for the Headmaster. Even if nothing is done about it, the hybrid is just happy that prick finally got told what’s what by his Dad. Aduel’s going to have to learn to just deal with other races or he’s going to be killed by his own people. Neither being a bad option as far as he’s concerned. The door to the Headmaster’s office cracks open. “Sen…” He rises from the couch and makes his way in just as she’s returning to her desk. Extending a hand she motions for him to sit, looking at him with weary, red flecked eyes. “Care to explain why you’re here?” “Yeah…” He sits down, feeling kind of bad that she has to deal with all this mess. “My Dad told me about what happened at the meeting last night and he also told me he talked with you about it and if Mister Aduel did anything funny, to come see you. Well, he just kinda freaked out on the whole class and especially me. He told me to come up and write the whole lesson on the board, which I was doing, then he told everyone that if they didn’t finish by Third bell he would fail them and if they started even a second before I finished writing, he’d take the points out of my grade. Then out of no where he just flipped out and told me to leave.” Sen attempts to look as concerned and unamused as possible, knowing that really wouldn’t help him at this point. The Headmaster sighs, “Mister Aduel still has a ways to go as far as his temper is concerned I see. I will be speaking with him soon enough about his behavior and I do hope that both your fathers know that his actions are independent of himself and do not reflect the feelings of the rest of the staff…” Leaning back in her chair, the petite woman crosses one leg over another and folds her hands neatly in her lap. “Though I must say that it is unlike him to be quite so temperamental given his status within the facility and the consequences this will bring him so I must ask you Sen, if he truly ‘freaked’ for no reason what so ever…?” “Well, before I went up to the board I did kinda laugh at the fact that he had a bandage over his hand, but it was just a quick laugh before I caught myself and no one else saw it. Both my fathers know that it’s not your fault he… thinks the way he does. Dad told me it got pretty bad and my Dad hates fighting with other people. He’ll usually state his case but actually provoking someone is not what he does. I guess Mister Aduel also said that the rumors going around about me and Samara were true when they aren’t. I have no reason to lie about that, it never happened. It was just Jacen being a jerk but he and I have already talked about it and it’s over. I know Mister Aduel doesn’t like Father and I know it’s just him being a typical Angel.” Sen sighs. He really wishes the Head didn’t have to deal with Aduel, she doesn’t deserve that. “I don’t blame him for what he is and I know why he’s a teacher here, Dad told me about that last night too. It’s just really hard when nothing anyone can ever do will ever be good enough for him because of what we are. He’s not teaching us, he’s punishing us.” “While I do agree with your assessment on his teaching” the Headmaster sighs wearily, “there is little I can do unfortunately aside from what I am given. He was assigned by his superiors and those same superiors are also my own so while he must abide by mine, I am at the mercy of theirs. The Angelic society is still in it’s infantry as far as growth with outsides races are concerned; it is still very much a delicate balance. With the most generous help of your Father years before you were born, this school had been designed to place children such as yourself with one another and give them some resemblance of the normality mundane Humans are privy to on a daily basis in an attempt to blend all our races together for the greater good. Who is allowed to teach is beyond my control and with the exception of the few… colorful people such as Mister Aduel, our facility has run rather smoothly since it was founded.” A soft smile forms on the petite woman’s lips. “I do apologize on his behalf, Sen. I will be speaking with him as I’ve said, but if you are uncomfortable in his class, there are other homerooms of your level that I can place you in…” “You shouldn’t have to apologize for him…” Sen shakes his head. “I’ve gotten myself pretty settled in that homeroom. I like who I’m there with and really he isn’t bad all the time. I would prefer to stay. I don’t care if he likes me, I just want him to lay off and treat me like everyone else. Unfortunately, that’s still pretty bad because he only likes the purebreds.” The hybrid smirks. “I just don’t think Mister Aduel gets that if he had laid a hand on Dad, Father would have been down here instantly with his sword aimed directly for his head. He doesn’t care about the delicate balance when the ones he loves are being threatened…. especially at a parent-teacher conference.” Sen lies through his teeth. He knows full well Dad could have handled it on his own if Aduel was stupid enough to start something, but it sounded good. “There are many things I should not have to apologize for,” she smiles. “But as Headmaster of this facility, it is my responsibility and duty to take responsibility for those within the employment. I know all too well what Mister Aduel’s opinion of the majority of the school is…” The Headmaster sighs softly. “And I will be issuing out an official apology letter to you to deliver to both your fathers about last night’s incident. I will also attempt to speak with his superiors about his treatment of the students as I had no inkling that things were as bad as you’ve described in the class. I understand he can be vocal about his feelings but I have had no real complaints from students about his behavior up until lately… again, Sen, I apologize. Hopefully with some disciplinary action from Mister Aduel’s Highers, he will begin to see things in a different light…” Sen laughs. “Honestly, I think they could be killing him the way Angels normally kill their own and he still wouldn’t change his opinion.” He shakes his head, bending forward to rest his arms on his knees and looks up. “No, even with that I don’t expect him to get any better, I actually expect him to get worse no matter what, just sneakier about it. I know it really must have upset him that no matter what he does or who he tells, he still has no way to retaliate against Dad or Father because of who they are. Even his attempts at going after me are lame but it’s all he has. I just don’t want him to start taking it out on those who can’t do anything about it or defend themselves from his superiors.” “This I agree with and as always, I will do what I can to ensure this will not happen.” The petite woman smiles wearily before untangling her fingers and pulling her hand up to glance at her watch. “Third bell will be sounding within minutes.” She says before pulling her hand away to meet the clear crimson gaze before her once again. “Please visit my office again before you leave today Sen so that I may give you that apology letter for your Fathers, also…” uncrossing her legs, the Headmaster bends to her side in the slightest and pulls a drawer open, fishing out a small booklet and setting it on the desk before her. Lifting a nearby pen, she begins scribbling on the top paper. Ripping it free, she leans forward and offers it to the hybrid. “Take this to Mister Aduel before your final class. It will excuse you today for Office duty as I feel it would be in your best interest to have today free of his presence… I will speak with him when school has finished and hopefully we will all be able to start the next week fresh and in better spirits…” Sen nods as he takes the slip of paper. “Ok, though the apology letter really isn’t necessary but I’m sure Dad will appreciate it anyway.” He looks down at the paper. “I’ll give this to him and come back before I go home. Thank you, and I’m sorry again that you have to deal with this whole mess. I never intended to be a problem, I really just want to go to school like everyone else.” Third bell rings and Sen rises from his chair, the Headmaster following suit soon after. “You aren’t a problem Sen.” She smiles to the teenager, “And hopefully we will be able to get this entire thing settled so that you may indeed, attend without incident…” He smiles at her a bit half-heartedly before taking off for Weapons.
![]() “So…” Samara hands Sen his bag in the locker room as everyone begins to change their clothing. “What the hell was all that? I’m dying to know.” The hybrid smirks and takes his bag, opening his locker a moment later to shove it in and take out his hakama while speaking low so only Samara can hear. “I knew Professor Tightass would be on a short fuse so I kinda helped it along a little, aside from laughing at his hand when I went up there, which is what I told the Head I did, I went into his head as I was writing. I told him if he’d just chill the fuck out and deal, he wouldn’t have any problems and that my fathers are damn good parents and he needs to get over himself. That’s when he flipped and I went to the Head. I totally expected it to happen.” “Oh man.” The half breed shakes her head as she reaches back and pulls the zipper to her skirt down, allowing the fabric to fall at her feet a moment later. “I’m sure he just loved hearing all that. No wonder he flipped.” Popping the last few buttons free, Samara pulls her shirt free and lets it fall at her feet along with her skirt until she’s standing in just her bra and panties. “God, he’s such an asshole, seriously. After you left, he made me go up and copy that shit down and I can’t even reach the top of the stupid board so one of the boys came up to help me and he took points off all our grades for that. My dad is so going to hear about that when I get home since he’s the one coming for conference tonight.” Reaching into her locker, the white and black haired teenager pulls her hakama out and tosses it on the bench behind them before reaching back in to pull a small hair tie free. Turning back to the hybrid, Samara slides her hands up to long strands and begins twisting them around while continuing. “So what happened with the Head?” “Oh I don’t think you’ll have to worry about those points. I told her what happened and said that Dad told me to go see her if Aduel pulled anything. She was pretty surprised he would flip out so much because he knows how badly it can get him in trouble but she understood. She asked if I had done anything to provoke it but I just told her about the laughing at his hand. No one here but you and Jacen know I can use telepathy and I’d like to keep it that way.” He smiles. “And it makes getting away with shit even easier. But we talked for a bit about how he treats all the students who aren’t pureblood and she agreed with all of it. She spent far too much time apologizing for him and I told her not to because I know it’s not her fault he has to be here or what he does. She’s going to go talk to him and hopefully straighten everything out and then go to his superiors about it as well.” Sen spends a moment watching Samara as she changes. He was still a little embarrassed but at least she was his to look at like that now. The half breed catches himself and does a little pose, the two erupting in laugher soon after. “Oh yeah, I also got out of last homeroom and she’s sending home a letter of apology to my fathers. I told her she didn’t have to do the second one but she insisted. She also asked me if I wanted to change homerooms, but there’s no way I’m leaving you alone to have to deal with him. Besides…” A wicked grin forms on his face. “How else can I make his life a living hell by just existing if I’m not there?” Samara laughs while she twists the hakama ties around her narrow waist, closing her locker and turning iridescent eyes on the hybrid. Leaning up against the wooden structures behind her, she crosses her arms just beneath her chest and smiles. “We couldn’t make life easy for the tightass, that would be like, total blasphemy or something. God, I’m so glad the Head isn’t like some of the ones in the company and stuff. She’s so cool, like the coolest teacher I ever met...” The half breed trails as her eyes travel over her boyfriend’s frame while he’s pulling his shirt free and she bites lightly at her bottom lip, spending a few moments just staring until Sen’s clear embarrassment pulls a small amount of amused laughter from her mouth. Could he be any cuter or what? “Dad is going to hear about all this when I get home though cause he won’t let anything like what happened to your dad fly.” Shaking her head, she sighs, “I’m glad you didn’t transfer out when the Head gave you the chance because that class is boring enough as it is. If you left, I think I’d really die…” “Nah, I wouldn’t do that to you.” Sen grabs the half breed by her waist and pulls her roughly towards him, the teenagers spend a long moment just staring at each other before their lips meet.
![]() Sen rounds the corner to Section C, walking fast. He would be meeting Samara for lunch like always but he figured this was a good time to deliver the note and the Head’s request to Professor Tightass. Standing in front of the door for a moment, he debates knocking for about five seconds before simply opening the door and walking in to the classroom. That asshole didn’t even deserve that amount of politeness at this point. The Angel doesn’t even bother looking up from his desk and continues attempting to write with a broken hand as the hybrid comes closer. Sen tosses the note down in front of him. “From the Headmaster. I have Office duty last homeroom. Oh yeah, and she wants to speak with you.” Halting the movement of his pen, the Angel’s eyes travel over to the note for the space of a moment before going back to his work. Without ever looking up, he speaks quietly through gritted teeth. “I’m sure she does. I can only imagine what you’ve told her, you half breed filth. Did we tell her all the details? Or did we conveniently leave out that little ability of yours…?” “I told her I laughed at your hand, but I don’t know what ability you’re talking about.” Sen smirks. Aduel stiffens and grinds his teeth. “You, Sen are the very reason I have the opinions of your kind that I do.” He sets his pen down and turns angry silver eyes on clear crimson. “You are all lying, sneaky, underhanded things and I will never understand why any of my people would wish their bloodlines tainted by the poison coursing through your veins.” “No.” The hybrid stuffs his hands in his pockets. “You had these opinions before you ever met your first non-Angelic being. It’s ingrained into you by your own kind, I know this. You also fail to take into account the sneaky, lying and underhanded things your own race does not only to other races, but to each other. We all have our faults and our good points, you just don’t ever want to see the good parts when it comes to us.” He shakes his head. “Why don’t you let the rest of your people make up their own minds about what they want to do rather than forcing your own opinion down their throats? If they choose life, and mixing with other races is the way that has to happen, maybe you should respect that. I don’t ever expect you to change your opinion of me, Mister Aduel, I don’t think you are capable of that kind of personal growth, but it’s not too much to ask that you at least tolerate me.” He smiles. “If you took a minute to look past your prejudices, you might actually see I’m not such a bad kid. I’m willing to ignore all your elitism and accept you for what you are. I don’t like it, but I accept it.” “I see what has always been presented to me, child” the Angel says coolly. “And despite what you may think, my opinion of your kind is still largely shared by the majority of my own people. Just because you are the child of that… Founder, does not mean you know the inner workings of our society despite your insufferable little know-it-all attitude” Turning his attention back to his paper, Aduel resumes his attempts to write with his broken hand, continuing without looking back up. “Now unless you plan to assist me in grading these papers, go run yourself off for lunch because I’m tired of speaking to you. It’s just as much of a waste of my time as you are a waste of my air.” “Then far be it from me to waste your precious oxygen.” Sen starts to walk away slowly, speaking as he goes. “I may not know all that goes on within your society, but I’ve heard enough from the people who do, including those that have been tortured by their own to know Angels are far worse creatures than us Lowers ever could be. We try being polite, Mister Aduel but it never gets anywhere so why would we continue to have everything thrown in our faces and keep on being nice as can be? My Dad was polite, he’s not even a fucking Demon, but you just couldn’t keep your bullshit to yourself. What did you honestly expect him to do, sit there and take it?” The hybrid walks out, closing the door behind him before the Angel can say anything in return.
![]() “There is nothing to explain…” the Angel says coolly, meeting calm red flecked hazel with equally calm silver. “The boy’s father was unreasonable.” The Headmaster raises an eyebrow and leans forward to rest her elbows on her desk, threading her fingers together a moment after. “Come now, Mister Aduel. We have worked together for far too many years for me to believe that nonsense.” Her eyes travel briefly down to the Angel’s broken hand and back up again . “Is it mere coincidence that you carry this new wound so soon after the meeting? Is it mere coincidence that Sen was sent to my office and other students have been reporting your less than reasonable behavior during today’s classes to me throughout the day? Is it mere coincidence that I was forced to send letters of apology home with Sen to his fathers for your performance at last night’s conference? So again, Mister Aduel. Please explain yourself.” “Alright… I offered my advice to the child’s father on ways he might better control his son’s out of control behavior during my class and he threw it back in my face by being belligerent and rude. When I saw that the conversation was turning sour, I asked him kindly to leave and he refused, so I left instead. This-” The Angel raises his bandaged hand while he seethes quietly. “Is my own business and has nothing to do with the events at all as I have said.” He lowers his hand and offers a tight lipped smile. “Is this more the explanation you wished to hear, Headmaster? It is the same one I have written in my report; all you needed to do was read it instead of pull me away from my preparations for this pointless interrogation and baseless accusations.” “I have read your report and I am unable to believe any of it. I do not find your attitude very amusing any more than I find you pushing that very narrow view on the diversity of our races on our students and their parents very amusing.” The petite woman says coldly. “You have been walking very thin lines these past few months, Mister Aduel, one that you can easily be pushed off of. Need I remind you who holds the binds on your terms of parole?” “I am perfectly aware at all times of this, Headmaster.” “Good,” she smirks. “Perhaps you will learn to control yourself a little better in the future then, because I have grown very tired of the attitude you present to me on a daily basis. Whether you like it or not, the Founder’s son will be attending this school. Sen is a fine young man, despite what your personal opinion of him or those like him is. I do not want to hear another report of misconduct as far as you are concerned because I will not hesitate to have you transferred back to Central if you continue to walk this path, Mister Aduel. Do you understand?” “Yes” the Angel says through gritted teeth. “Perfectly” “Good” the Headmaster smiles sweetly. “Now you may go.” Aduel stays in place for the space of a few moments, angry silver eyes remaining locked with impassive red flecked hazel before he nods curtly and rises, quickly exiting the Headmaster’s office a moment later.
![]() Tossing her leather book bag on the floor besides her bed, Samara strips herself quickly out of her uniform, leaving the clothing in a pile near the closet doors. Dressing herself in a light tee shirt and low cut black jeans, the teenager leans down to scoops her discarded uniform off the black carpeting in order to fish her cell phone free of the skirt pocket. Tossing the clothing onto the bed without giving it a glance, Samara flips the top open and begins typing out a quick message with the tips of her nails. “Going to Central with Daddy tom, will be done at 11a – want to meet up afterwards? ~Samara” Pushing her speed dial, she sends the message to Sen with a smile before snapping the small phone closed and stuffing it into her back pocket. The teenager turns and moves back out of her room, heading directly to her father’s study. Knocking lightly on the door, it takes a moment for her father to answer and Samara takes in a small breath before stepping inside. “Dad” the teenager says quietly to the back of her father’s head while he remains at his desk, unaffected in his work. “Can I talk to you?” The Angel nods without answer and the petite girl moves into the room, closing the door behind her before moving towards his desk and seating herself besides him. Her father simply continues writing and she waits patiently for him to finish. “You may speak, daughter…” he says after a few moments of silence, still never pulling his gaze from his paperwork. “Okay, um… see so me and Sen.” “Sen and I” he interrupts. “Yeah, I mean Sen and I are going out right?” god, she really hates when he did that. “And there’s this boy at school, you remember him? Jacen, he’s that one kid-“ “I am aware of who he is Samara.” Her father interrupts again. “… Okay, well you know he’s been giving me some trouble for a while right?” she continues, trying her hardest not to let the annoyance of her dad constantly interrupting her slip into her voice. “Well, just after me a- Sen and I got together, Jacen got super jealous and spread some really nasty rumors about us and-“ “Samara” the Angel interrupts yet again. “I am very busy and do not wish to have my time wasted by trivial matters such as rumors spread at your school. You should know better by now not to allow what others say, especially your fellow students, affect you in any way. If you truly wish to gossip, this would more suited to be discussed with your mother as she is more tolerant of it than I.” “No, but Dad” The teenager tries, “you don’t understand, it’s not just about what Jacen said, it’s-” “Samara, that is enough-” “Mister Aduel” she says quickly, knowing by her father’s tone that if she didn’t get to it fast, she wouldn’t be able to get to it at all. And sure enough, at the mention of the teacher’s name, her father stops writing and looks up to meet iridescent eyes with reserved white. “Mister Aduel, what?” he says flatly.
