Chapter Three : Part One

Glass like claws slide up to sweep through long chestnut bangs, clear crimson staring down into cerulean blue before the Demon leans down to touch pale lips at full ones. The kiss is slow and sweet before he pulls back and straightens, cool liquid notes leaving his mouth a moment later. “Should you need this One, simply call and I will be there…”

Aki smiles. “Hopefully that won’t be necessary, but thank you. I have a feeling this will probably be an interesting experience where that Angel is concerned, though he would be foolish to start anything.” They meet once more for a long kiss, interrupted by the impatient tapping of their son’s foot. The Eclipsed ignores him for a few moments longer before breaking away and meeting the hybrid’s gaze.

“Okaaay… if you don’t hurry up you’re going to be late for this stupid thing and I’m gonna get points taken off…” Sen practically shoves his father’s coat at him in an attempt to move the Eclipsed out the door faster.

Aki simply laughs, snatching the article away. “I’m going, I’m going…”

Sitting in a plastic lined, metal chair outside Sen’s homeroom, or at least what he assumes is Sen’s homeroom based on the map he has, Aki sighs impatiently. It was almost twenty minutes past the time he was told to be there. He even arrived a good ten minutes early for Sen’s sake. For someone whose time is apparently so valuable, this Angel could care less about others.

The door opens and silver eyes shift down to meet Aki’s momentarily before he turns abruptly and moves back into the class room. “Come in.” the Angel says flatly as he re-seats himself at his desk. The Eclipsed stands and moves into the room a moment later.

“Have a seat mister…?”

“Aki.” The Selestarri says as he walks to the chair sitting on the opposite side of the Angel’s desk and sits down.

“Mr. Aki.” Aduel smirks before his eyes move back to the small pile of papers at his front. Picking up a pen he begins scribbling notes down without another word.

“Just Aki…” The Eclipsed interjects after a moment of silence passes.

The Angel pauses without looking up, mumbling quietly to himself in Angelic. “I see where he gets it now...

The Eclipsed refrains from rolling his eyes and simply smiles at the Angel. Apparently, this asshole didn’t think he knew Angelic. He’ll just see how far this goes. “I’m sorry his… other father couldn’t be here, he had business to attend to. Sen seems very excited about school pretty much every day. I assume he’s doing well with his schoolwork?”

Silver eyes rise up to meet light blue and Aduel sits back, tapping his pen against his desk as he speaks. “Your son’s school work is fine. He turns his assignments in on time for the most part and his grades are satisfactory… for now.” A smile forms on the Eclipse’s lips and the Angel simply smirks. “But he is a constant disruption to my classroom, his presence often causes an uproar with the other children and I have been forced to remind him on more than one occasion that his status as that man’s child does not mean he can disrespect his teachers. I do not know what it is you and your… mate teach him at home, but it is severely lacking in the way of manners and common decency. I trust you have been told by the Headmaster what he and a fellow student were caught doing already and I can only hope you will do all in your power to make sure this will not happen again…”

“I am glad to hear his grades are satisfactory. Actually, the Headmaster, aside from the normal common teenager mistakes that I’m sure you are quite familiar with, has only told me good things. From what she tells me, he has been very good not to use his status as that man’s son to cause trouble. My mate and I are quite pleased with how he adjusting to normal school life. Sen does tell me, however, that while he tries very hard in your classroom, he feels that perhaps he is lacking somewhere because he cannot please you.” The Eclipsed simply waits for him to take the bait on that one. While he does not intend to start anything with the Angel, watching him fall all over himself would be quite amusing and possibly a humbling experience. Nah… he’s an Angel.

“While it seems our Headmaster has not relayed complete information to you, for reasons I can only assume being that she does not wish to anger the one who funds this school.” The Angel’s eyes flash as his temper begins to rise in the slightest. “I wish to make it absolutely clear to you, Aki that I do not hold fear of this kind for anyone, neither that man, or yourself. I am not aware of what you qualify as parenting skills at your home, but if your son truly wished to ‘please me’ as you’ve said then he would be a lot more discreet with his relations and where he chose to have them during school hours. What he did, caused an interruption to not only my class, but the entire facility today and I wish it to stop.”

“Mister Aduel, I would think you of all people would know better than to listen to rumors and conjecture started by students. While I realize that his dating life may be the hot topic at the moment, I would not have expected a teacher to buy into what a fifteen year old tells him. Your fear, or lack there of, should have no bearing on your teaching and nurturing of these students.” He better not be defending Sen for nothing. If he goes home and finds out the hybrid actually did do something after the talk they had, that boy has more to worry about than an elitist Angel on his ass. Aki didn’t honestly believe Sen would be that stupid.

“I had hoped” The Angel says rather curtly, “That you would have a lot more sense than that son of yours and be able to control him a little better once the problem was presented to you. Though I am beginning to see that perhaps his lack of sense may not entirely be his own fault, if the type of supervision he receives at home is what you are presenting to me today. I nurture my students just fine, Aki. But I can only do my own share in this, the rest is up to the parents and guardians. I am not here to fight you” Aduel smiles the most false, saccharine smile he can muster. “Only to point out what I feel will aide in his introduction into our society just as I would any other and it is your duty to take this information and help your son as you should.”

Not here to fight him, his ass. The Eclipsed rolls his eyes, his tone becoming less and less friendly. “So let me get this straight, I am supposed to take false rumors that spread around a school full of children and base that as fact for which to discipline my own son? I know what my son does, Mister Aduel, I know because he tells me everything. I do have a good relationship with him. You honestly think that that man couldn’t go into his head and rip the information out if he suspected Sen of lying? My son is in this school voluntarily because he wants to interact with other people his age, he wants to learn, and he wants to integrate into society. This is not a social call for him despite what you think and what other students will spread. Would you prefer I put a leash on the boy or is he allowed to have his own independent thoughts?”

The Angel smirks. “Yes, I’m sure it is quite easy to take the word of your son over an entire school and assume he is telling you the truth in regards to these so-called rumors. I would suggest that you take the blinders off, Aki and see what truly goes on when he is not in your presence. You are not here with him and so you do not see the behavior I am privy to for the majority of the day and as the adult, I would expect a little more… intelligence from you in that regard.” Aduel tosses his pen at his pile of papers and folds his arms over his chest, contemptuous silver eyes meeting annoyed blue as he continues. “There are independent thoughts and then there is flat out refusal to conform to an authority figure. Your son fits this later category as his confidence in that man’s station out rides any common sense he might have had. Perhaps a leash will be the only solution in the end as I can tell by your demeanor that you lack the ability to fully understand the help I am offering to you now as far as Sen is concerned...”

The Eclipsed shakes his head. He can’t be fucking serious… “Help? You are not offering anything but complaints, an elitist attitude and obvious bigotry based solely on my son’s genetics and rumors. Sen would act the same regardless of what station his father holds. I hardly think we would be having this conversation if he were the result of someone else’s creation. Have you seen my son in these acts you are so sure that he has committed? Has anyone else actually seen it or have they simply made up bullshit? Because that’s what teenagers do, Mister Aduel. If I, for even one second, thought any of that was true I sure as hell would be on his ass as that behavior would not fly in his household. I am sorry that you do not seem to think that someone as lowly as myself or the Founder of the organization that creates the means for your race to live on could possibly raise a son. I don’t see any children of your own running around to serve as shining examples of your amazing parenting skills, and for as much as you nurture these students, you apparently cannot contain them either or else they would not be spreading these kind of falsehoods in your classroom in the first place.”

Aki laughs as he continues. “And you are the last person who should be talking about refusal to conform to an authority figure.”

The Angel sits abruptly up, narrowing his eyes in anger. “Yes, I definitely see where he gets that contemptuous attitude of his.” He says in Angelic through gritted teeth before continuing in English. “My class room was fine until he showed his head into it all those months back, and since then I’ve had to watch one of my finest students deteriorate day by day because of his influence. You tell me these rumors are false, yet he was already cited for attacking another student within the first few weeks he attended our facility, not to mention the numerous times he’s earned himself detention for speaking out of line or going against a rule. I am simply trying to bring this to your attention Aki, in hopes you will take my suggestions to heart and do something about your son before he becomes more of a problem than he already is. His genetics have no more bearing on my decisions than what ever it is you think you know about me, personally.” Silver eyes narrow. “I cannot believe you would even suggest that I am trying to do more than to lend my aide in this matter…”

“He pushed a student off a desk for starting these very same types of rumors, and it’s not his word I’m going on. How that constitutes an attack, I have no idea. I’m sorry he’s a teenager, I will not mute him from speaking his mind.” Aki leans back in his chair with a grin. “Ok then, what do you feel I should be doing to help my son, Mister Aduel? So far not a single suggestion has come from your mouth other than ‘corral him’.”

“I’m unsure, Aki” the Angel retorts with a smirk. “Perhaps you and your mate need to take a more… hands on role as parents and learn to guide him better. He seems to have a real issue dealing with authority figures and does not like to be instructed one way or another. The child is practically begging for guidance and by his behavior in my presence I can tell he rarely gets this at home. It’s time you pull the wool free from your eyes, passing his …issues off as Sen simply being a teenager is a tired and ill fitted excuse.”

The Eclipsed shakes his head in disbelief, he just won’t drop the elitism, will he? “I still see no suggestions. You have no understanding of just how much time my mate and I have spent with Sen in the past 15 years. There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t have hours long conversations with him, constantly asking him how things are, what we can do to help and if he has any issues. He knows he can come to me about anything, and I do mean anything.” His eyes narrow, emphasizing the last syllables. “My son does not have a problem with authority, Mister Aduel, he has a problem with you and the way you treat both himself and the other students that aren’t of supposed ‘pure’ blood.”

“As you’ve pointed out numerous times, he is a teenager. Teenagers lack the ability to communicate as adults do. They can be treacherous, lying, sneaky little creatures when they wish it and there comes a time in their lives when lies become a normality for them and they cannot fathom what it is to relay the truth, even to those closest.” The anger was clear in Aduel’s voice as he speaks. “I am subjected to them daily and know exactly how they can be. You cannot even begin to compare the one child you have experience with to the overwhelming experience I have. If your son or any of the others has a true issue with how they are treated, then perhaps it’s time they learn to present themselves in a satisfactory manner and you learn to teach it. I wouldn’t be forced to treat you Lowers substandardly if you people and your children carried even a remote amount of the grace and nobility the pure bloods harbor within themselves.” He scoffs.

Aki simply smiles, there it is. He speaks in perfect Angelic. “I hardly think we are the Lowers, Mister Aduel. You seem to forget that it was your own people who put you in this position because even they understand the need to grow as a race. That not everything revolves around them and maybe they cannot do it alone. One of your own Highers has a very happy and successful marriage with a Demon and their child, of whom you teach, is quite possibly the very future of your people. I know why you are in this position, Mister Aduel, and I also know just how lenient of a sentence that was. Perhaps if you try looking beyond yourself you will see that most of these ‘issues’ that other races seem to have aren’t issues at all, because enjoying the life granted to them is not a fault.” The Eclipse’s eyes flash as his grin and his words turn cold. “And if you would prefer your other option for punishment, I can certainly arrange that for you.

That is enough!” The Angel slams his hand down on the desk. “How dare you bring my personal history into this! I wish you to leave my classroom right now as I see no further point to continue this conversation with one such as yourself. I will be making a full report to the Headmaster your belligerence towards me when all I have attempted was to offer my aide in the problematic behavior of your son!”

Aki laughs his ass off. “You bring my parenting and personal genetics into this and somehow that is fair? You bring the status of his father in and somehow that is fair? You speak ill of me and my son in a different language in front of my face simply because you think I cannot understand it and you think that is fair? No, Mister Aduel, there is no problem with my son. He has been a saint to have to deal with you and not lose control. There was never a conversation to begin with as nothing I could have said would have pleased you because I am not an Angel. Jenova would have already killed you in this situation but he happens to find your continued suffering by having to deal with the very thing you hate amusing.” The Eclipsed stands, folding his arms across his chest. “You can tell the headmaster whatever you want, it will do you no good and that has nothing to do with my mate.” Aki stays where he is, continuing to meet silver eyes with an unflinching gaze.

The Angel stands almost immediately after the Selestarri finishes, his eyes narrowed in anger, “Your ridiculous idle threats are laughable and your confidence gravely misplaced, Aki. Had I my weapon, I would gladly demonstrate just how little your words mean to me. I have never had the displeasure of dealing with a parent as contrary as yourself and I will be sending in a full report not only to the Headmaster but to my superiors as well. Now I wish you to leave, or do you plan on showing me just how justified my opinion of you, your spawn and that thing you call a mate is?”

Aki smirks. “Oh I would love to see just how little my words mean to you, seeing as how they have certainly upset you thus far. I would also love to see just how little your superiors care about a word that I have said. Do you think I would mind seeing them ripped apart by Jenova’s sword should they attempt to care? Again, need I remind you of where your blatant intolerance has landed you in the first place. Shall I provide a weapon for you?”

I wouldn’t give you the satisfaction” Aduel nearly spits. “Since you seem to know so much about the conditions of my ‘parole’ then you know full well what any insight would get me. I am no fool, unlike the other in this room who seems bent on provoking me for whatever twisted reason you hold in that small head of yours. Now I’ll ask you again, leave my classroom. I have had enough of your nonsense.

It is not myself that is the fool, Mister Aduel. I am not the one who insulted someone’s son, genetics, parenting skills or the status of his father. How is that not provocation? I was not the one who used the words Lower, spawn and ‘thing’ when describing the ones that the other loves. I have simply said you are intolerant and that is not a gross miss observation it is an underestimation of your hatred. I have also said that if your superiors attempt to retaliate based upon the report you give them, they will not get very far and they know this. Really, do you think they will not laugh at you because you could not handle what a parent said about your teaching? Grow the fuck up.” Aki sits back down in the chair, leaning back. “And if you were standing here with your weapon and the binding on your magic removed I would still be saying the same exact things.

Very well…” The Angel pushes out through gritted teeth, balling his hands into fists in an attempt to calm himself. “I see there is no reasoning with you and since you refuse to leave, I will be the one to step out as I refuse to fall for your pathetic attempts to bait me...” The Angel turns and storms towards the door, speaking as he goes. “I’ll be back later to disinfect your filth from my chair.” With that he disappears out of the doorway, hard footsteps echoing down the hall before it’s interrupted by a loud bang a few classrooms down as he punches a nearby wall.

“Oh you fell for it, hook, line and sinker. Thank you for proving my point, Mister Aduel.” Aki laughs into the empty classroom.

Aki grins as he opens the heavy wooden door to the bedroom he shares with Jenova. Closing it quietly behind him, the Eclipsed begins removing his sweater and sneakers on his way to the bathe. Speaking of filth, Aduel had made him feel dirty enough and he would rather wash the rest of the day away in blissful warmth.

Sitting on the edge as the water fills, Aki wonders just how much worse this is going to make things for Sen in that classroom. He doesn’t put it past Aduel to do everything in his power to make the hybrid’s life miserable. Lucky there isn’t much in his power to do. All in all, the meeting had gone pretty much as expected. He was a little disappointed that Aduel could control himself to the point of leaving when he himself wouldn’t. Maybe there’s some hope for him reigning in his attitude.

Angel. Nah…

Just as the Eclipsed slips down into the bathe, the sound of heavy leather boots quietly moving across hardwood fill his ears. Cerulean blue eyes shift back to the meet clear crimson of the Demon’s leather clad figure as he stands partially in and out of the doorway. Aki smiles and pulls long fingers out of the water to sweep chestnut locks back away from his face while Jenova moves into the Bathe, squatting down on the tiled ledge just behind the smaller man. Long white plaits spill forward as the Demon leans in the slightest, trailing long glass like claws down along Aki’s jaw and then up along the side of his face before pulling back and resting his arm over his knee.

“I take it…” Jenova quirks an eyebrow and smiles, “that your meeting went… as expected, hm?”

“Actually, I was slightly disappointed that he didn’t physically assault me. He did everything up until that though, including threatening to inform his ‘superiors’ of what I said, which was no where close to what he said to me. Aside from the snide insults under his breath in Angelic, which he didn’t think I understood, essentially we have no idea how to be parents, we obviously spend no time with our son because he is uncontrollable and does nothing but perform lewd acts in front of all the students on a constant basis that of course couldn’t possibly be false because he gets his reliable information from rumors started by fifteen year olds. He called the ones I love filth, Lowers, spawn and ‘thing’…” He looks up. “’Thing’ specifically referring to you.” The Eclipsed smiles. “Though up until he started threatening me he did refer to you as my ‘mate’.”

Aki chuckles. “He was apparently insulted by the fact that I could not take the blinders off and see what a terrible child Sen actually was and that he couldn’t possibly be telling me the truth about school when I talk to him. Once the threats started coming out I told him that if he liked, I could happily arrange the other option for his punishment if he hated this one so much… He threw a fit, I told him to grow the fuck up, he stormed out of the classroom and punched a wall when I wouldn’t leave. All in all, quite a refreshing experience. I haven’t had a good fight with an Angel in a long time.”

Amused laughter spills from pale lips while the Demon straightens, turning towards the doorway as the steam spirals around his form and speaking as he moves to exit. “So it was… uneventful as I predicted…”

Disappearing out into the room, Jenova returns a few minute later, draped only in a semi sheer kimono. Pin stripe material pools around bare feet as he reaches the inlaid steps and moves down into heated water soon after. Snow colored strands fan out around his muscular frame as the Demon wades over to the Eclipsed, glass like claws sliding near Aki’s head as his hand comes to rest on the ledge behind him. Leaning down, Jenova slips his free hand up along Aki’s torso to rest just beneath his jaw before meeting his lips for a deep kiss. Arching up into the larger man, the Selestarri’s hands trail over the contours of the Demon’s body and his head turns as they slowly break to slide full lips along the outstretched arm at his side. Trailing his mouth along Aki’s neck, Jenova’s amused words are spoken directly into the Selestarri’s skin. “Though from your description… I find myself almost wishing I had been present to witness the meeting play out…”

Aki smiles as he runs his lips over pale flesh. “You are welcome to go into my head at any time to see for yourself.” Glass like claws slowly move over his shoulder and down the line of the Selestarri’s back causing him to gasp slightly. The two are interrupted by a knock on the door and the Eclipsed sighs. He shouts out to the teenager on the other side. “Sen, we’re in the bathe, you can come in or wait, it’s up to you.” Aki laughs has he hears slightly annoyed muffled words form his son before the door clicks open.

“If I wait for you two to get out it’ll be hours. I’ll just avert my eyes.” The hybrid walks into the room, his gaze glued to the ceiling as he reaches the bathe doorway. “So… how’d it go?”

Aki looks to Jenova and a sly smile forms on his lips. “Better than expected…” Sen sighs in relief before the Eclipsed can continue. “…However.” The hybrid’s relief is short lived as a look of worry crosses his features. “Sen, I apologize ahead of time if you find you have a harder time dealing with your teacher in the future.”

“Oh fuck… I’m gonna get points taken off aren’t I?”

“Possibly.” Aki chuckles. “But that isn’t my main concern. He seems to be under the impression that you cannot handle authority. I told him you simply couldn’t handle his elitist attitude and hatred of anything not Angelic. This was of course- after – we got into the shouting match.” He ignores his son’s whimpers of defeat. “He’s also under the impression that you and your girlfriend are performing lewd acts in front of the other students. I told him that he shouldn’t listen to the rumors started by fifteen year olds. There were threats issued on both sides, I told him to grow the fuck up, he stormed out and punched a wall.” He smirks to himself. “Sen please tell me I was correct in assuming that whatever it was he was talking about is just a rumor.”

“Ho shit, you actually told him to grow up?” Sen can’t help the huge grin that forms before his face turns to a scowl. “Jacen started this stupid rumor that Samara and I were having sex in a classroom or something. Neither of us has had sex ever. He didn’t see anything because we never did anything for him to see. He was hitting on Samara pretty bad earlier this week and I told him to back off of her because he couldn’t flirt with her anymore. He asked why and I kissed Samara in front of him, which pissed him off because he was interested in both of us and now we’re together and he really can’t have us. So he started the rumors which got pretty bad and really got Samara mad. He confronted us at lunch and I proceeded to break down every little insecurity he had right in front of his friends.” Aki shakes his head with a sigh and Sen continues. “He called her a fucktoy… come on. I never touched him.”

Clear crimson meet cerulean and a smile flashes momentarily on pale lips before the Demon pulls his arm free of the tile, straightening and turning to Aki’s side. Sinking back down into the hot water, Jenova lets his head slide back against the ledge and he closes his eyes. “I am …surprised the girl even allowed you to fight that particular battle for her…” he says quietly without re-opening his eyes.

Sen laughs. “Me too kinda… I was on a roll though and she had already just gotten in trouble for yelling out in Aduel’s class so maybe she was trying to keep herself restrained. She almost got up a few times but I signaled to her to hold on and then hurt him more with his own memories than her physically beating him ever could.”

“Sen…” Aki speaks disappointedly. “You know you shouldn’t be going into other people’s heads without their permission. That’s a huge violation of someone.”

“I know, I know, I never do it, I don’t even like doing it but he just wouldn’t give it up. He brought this huge posse of kids with him to back him up since he’s too chicken to do it himself. He talks a lot of shit but in reality he’s just as much of a virgin as the both of us are. He really wouldn’t know what to do with a girl if he ever did get one. No wonder he just leads people on and never does anything about it.” Sen scoffs. “He said I’d be a lot cuter if I wasn’t so much of an asshole and I told him he’d be cuter if he wasn’t such a vindictive rat.”

The Eclipsed laughs. “I find your petty teenage squabbles adorable, Sen. I’m sure you were being an asshole but I trust you to police your own behavior.” He looks up, meeting his son’s gaze. “If you go in tomorrow and Mister Aduel gives you shit or treats you any differently than the rest of the students, don’t put up with it. I don’t expect you to actually do anything about it right then, but any disciplinary action he may try to dish out to you may be retaliatory. Go see your Headmaster if he does. I have already informed her of the situation.”

Sen nods at the Eclipse’s words. “Damn, you really must have gone off on him then. You’re usually nice to everyone Dad, even those asshole Angels.”

Aki smiles before moving back to Jenova’s front. “Yes, well, he deserved my own version of wrath…”

A sly smile forms on pale lips and the Demon reaches forward, sliding clawed fingers beneath the Eclipse’s arms and pulling him completely into his lap. Slipping his fingers up to skim along Aki’s jaw line while leaning in to bring his mouth near, “I quite enjoy when you bare your fangs… Aki…” his amused words pull an equally amused laugh from the Selestarri’s mouth seconds before their lips touch.

And this was his cue to get out. Sen can’t help the slightly disgusted look that crosses his features and he turns abruptly to leave the room as fast as he can manage. Christ, they couldn’t even wait until he was out of the room. Frikkin rabbits.
