Chapter Two : Part Two

Sen sighs as he drops his wallet and phone on his dresser, launching himself onto his bed a moment later. He was glad Samara liked her gift, really glad. He was surprised no one had ever given her anything like that before, considering how popular she is. A lot of guys still go after her but they normally get the hint that she isn’t interested once he comes around and she starts ignoring them. The hybrid smiles to himself.

But today, he started realizing just why they went after her. Yeah she has a total attitude, but it’s really cute, especially considering how small she is. He should really stop thinking about it, Samara wouldn’t like it if she thought he was just another one of those guys who wanted to be around her just to hook up. Sen never wanted her to think of him like that, their friendship was too important to him.

“Good day?” The hybrid jumps as Aki’s voice hits him from the doorway.

“Dad! You scared the crap out of me…” Sen sits up on his bed. “Yeah, we went to pick this jewelry thing up her mom had special made for her dad. I got Samara this necklace thing and then we went to a juice bar and she had me try some slush thing that tasted really weird. It was purple… Father’s not going to be mad at me that I bought something will he?”

Aki smiles. “I’m glad you had fun. I don’t think he’ll care, he gave you a card to get things if you need them. Why, how much was it?”

“Umm…” Sen scratches the back of his head. “$3500 I think.”

The Eclipse’s eyes practically pop out, “Thirty-five hundred?” Sen nods and Aki shakes his head as he walks into the room. “My god Sen… that’s a hell of a lot of money. As much as I would say never do that again, I know your Father won’t care. Which I find rather boggling that he doesn’t. I don’t think I’ve ever spent anywhere near that amount in one sitting.” He sighs, sitting down on the bed next to his son. “Just next time, call and ask or something. I know it’s not like you go out and spend money all the time but that’s an insane purchase. You must really like this girl. I hope she appreciated it at least.”

Sen smiles again looking down and playing with the tags on his jeans. “Yeah she said she loved it. It made me happy.”

Grinning, Aki ruffles his son’s milk brown hair. “Just don’t go around spending that kind of money again. People like to take advantage of you when you do that.”

The hybrid looks up. “She wouldn’t do that, her father makes decent money from what she says and it’s not like I’d buy anyone else anything. I bought it for her to thank her for being my friend and showing me how things work in high school. I’d never buy anything for all those other idiots who just want to hook up with me for whatever reason. None of them actually cares about me. I don’t get it.”

“I’m sure a lot of them find you attractive, Sen. You have your father’s looks and considering who he is, I’m sure some think it would help them socially to be with you because of that. I’m glad you can see through it. It sounds like Samara is the only one who you’ve stuck by the whole time any way.”

Sen flusters at Aki’s words. “I don’t see why… I can’t exactly look at Father and see ‘attractive’, he’s Father.”

“Well take my word for it then. He’s attractive and that gets him a lot of shit coming from others because of it. You are part of him therefore; you are going to have similar problems. As long as you can see who is being genuine to you, that’s all that matters in the end.” The Eclipsed rises off the bed and starts walking towards the door.

“Oh, hey Dad… I wanted to ask you something.” Aki turns around waiting for his son to continue. “Could… could Samara maybe come over sometime. I go over to her place all the time but I want to show her where I live cause it’s so different from the city.”

“Ask your father, it’s his decision ultimately.”

“Can’t you ask him… use your negotiating skills or something?”

Aki laughs aloud. “No. You can ask him, I’m not your personal go-between. You need to learn to take care of your own things with your father and if you want it badly enough, you’ll do it. He’s in his room.”

“But!” Before Sen can finish Aki leaves the doorway and begins walking back to his own room.

Fuck. That’s the last thing he wanted to do. He hates coming to Father with anything, he always feels like he’s interrupting or annoying him. He’s never been able to read the Demon, he doesn’t understand how Dad can do it. Dad’s so much easier to talk to and have ask Father for things. But he really wants to invite Samara over. He’s never had anyone over to the house.

Sen sighs. This sucks.

Pushing himself off the bed, the hybrid resigns himself to having to actually talk to Father. Sen kicks his shoes off and starts down the hallway, taking deliberately slow steps to his father’s room. Eventually his steps actually get him to where he’s going, he should have walked slower. He stares at the heavy wood door for a moment before raising his hand to knock. Jenova’s voice comes through before his hand ever touches the wood.

“You may enter.”

Sen practically jumps back before getting a grip on himself. Touching the knob, he feels his father’s seal dissipate immediately and opens the door as slow as he possibly can.

Slowly stepping inside the large room, clear crimson move over to meet the cerulean of his dad as he sits on the oversized four poster bed, back against the intricately carved headboard before traveling over to meet the long snow colored plaits crowning the back of his Father’s head. Jenova stands near the floor to ceiling windows directly to the bed’s front, eyes locked on the darkened grounds outside and sheer kimono draped loosely over his pale, muscular form. The hybrid glances at Aki again, pleading silently for a moment before the Eclipsed simply shakes his head and motions towards the silent Demon, still refusing to do Sen’s dirty work.

The teenager turns around to close the door behind him with a quiet sigh, deliberately taking his time to do so before stern liquid notes startle him from his task. “Do you plan to stand in the doorway all night, or was there a reason you have interrupted our time before… sleep?” Jenova says without turning his gaze away from the grounds outside.

Sleep, yeah right. Sen already knows what they plan to do before sleeping. He nervously steps into the room, making about half way in before stopping. “Um… sorry… I, uh, I wanted to ask you something.” The Demon stands unmoving in silence waiting for him to continue. This is what Sen hated, Father barely ever talks or moves or lets anyone know what he’s possibly thinking. The hybrid didn’t get how there could be people falling all over him like Dad said when he’s so…cold all the time. Of course, Dad never has a problem with him. They were so different personality-wise, how in the world do they get along so well?

Jenova shifts his weight and Sen decides he should probably get talking before Father kicks him out. “Well… I go over to Samara’s place all the time. I have been for months now. I really want to be able to show her my home sometime, since it’s so different from where she lives in the city. Could… she come over?”

Aki looks over, meeting his son’s crimson gaze, rather proud that he finally got up the balls to face his father and make a simple request. He knows Sen is intimidated, but he will eventually need to learn that if he is honest and just himself, the hybrid has nothing to worry about when it comes to Jenova.

Flawless red eyes finally slide away from the grounds and back to meet his son’s without moving more than his head. Narrowing his eyes for only a moment and causing Sen to shift a little nervously in his place, the Demon turns back a moment later. “What is it exactly, that you plan to do once you have invited this girl inside, hm?”

“Um…” Sen’s expression falls at his Father’s tone, glancing quickly over to Aki again before looking back. But before he can answer, Jenova simply turns around and moves casually towards the oversized four poster bed, speaking as he goes.

“So long as the rules of this house are not violated, you may have this one guest…” the hybrid stands silent as his Father stops by the bed at the Eclipse’s side and reaches out to slide glass like nails along the smaller man’s cheek. Amusement flashes through clear crimson for only a moment as they meet cerulean blue before Jenova’s gaze shifts over towards their son. “I will even allow this particular child access to this wing… so long as Fuan’s room is as always, left untouched…”

Sen stands, dumbfounded. He didn’t expect that, any of it. “O-Of course. Thank you Father.” He continues to stand in shock when the Eclipsed clears his throat, bringing Sen back to reality. “Oh… sorry. Right. Thank you, again.” A huge grin crosses his features and he looks over at Aki before turning around to leave, closing the door quietly behind him.

Aki smiles, looking back to Jenova as glass like claws thread into long ginger locks. “You enjoy intimidating the shit out of that poor boy, don’t you?”

“I must admit I find it rather… amusing… that he thinks me so difficult to approach…” the Demon chuckles as he pulls his fingers away from Aki’s hair and slides himself into the bed. Shaking his head, the Eclipsed sits up and crawls around behind Jenova, sliding his fingers into long white plaits to push them over the Demon’s shoulder, leaning down to touch full lips to pale flesh a moment later.

Awesome. Samara will be ecstatic, she’s been wanting to see his house. If he had known it would be that easy he would have asked a long time ago. Sen grabs the phone off his dresser and flops down on his bed, flipping the screen up and pressing the button to autodial the half breed’s number. He smiles as she answers on the first ring and begins talking before Samara has a chance to say anything.

“So, you wanna come over tomorrow?”

Ehhhh? No way!” She says, surprised. “I’ve totally known you forever now and still haven’t gotten to see this mansion you always talk about. So hell yes I want to come over. What made your dads finally cave-?” She stops abruptly before gasping, “Oh my god, Sen – what did they say about the necklace? Did they freak or what? Oh this is sooo cool. I’m totally going to need directions so I can look up bus routes or something…

“Well, I think Dad wanted to freak, but he knew Father wouldn’t care in the end so he just told me to not spend so much next time. As for coming over, Dad made me just go ask Father directly and he actually said it was ok. He’s even lifting the ward on the fourth floor so you can come up here. Oh my god, asking him anything is the hardest thing in the world, he is impossible to read. I couldn’t tell if he was mad at me or what, but he said it was ok as long as none of the rules are violated, but you shouldn’t really have to worry about any of that. This is so great, maybe you can even see them training so you can see how good they are.” He thinks for a moment. “Oh you don’t need to find a bus route, I don’t think any busses come all the way out here anyway. I can just have my driver come get you tomorrow.”

Okay so sweet.” She says excitedly, “you’ll totally have to tell me what the rules are cause I don’t want to screw up and get kicked out or something… and since dad works with your Father, I really, really don’t want to do something to piss him off and mess up his work. Seriously, this is so cool, what time do you want me over?”

“The rules really aren’t anything. Just stay away from Uncle Fuan’s room and don’t disturb anyone else here. Nothing you would accidentally slip up on, so don’t sweat it. You wouldn’t get kicked out… I’ll just have my driver come by the front of your building around ten tomorrow morning. That sound ok?”

You got it” she grins, clicking her phone off a moment later.

Snapping her cell closed, the half breed makes a small excited noise while spinning herself in a circle, collapsing back onto her bed a moment later. Black streaked white hair fans out around her as her body settles into black sheets and she closes her eyes and sighs, unable to stop the wide grin form forming on her lips. She couldn’t wait for tomorrow to come. This is the first time since she’s known Sen that she’s been invited to his place and to say she was looking forward to it would be a total understatement. It’s not getting to see his mansion or anything that’s making her so excited, it’s just that even though they’ve been friends and all for these months, she’s felt kinda… shut out to a point because she hasn’t been trusted into his house.

He comes over all the time, but she never gets to go there and she really wants to see where he lives and sleeps and eats... Samara frowns, ugh god, that sounded so stalkerish even in her own head. Still… reaching up with her free hand, she touches at the small platinum bird pendant resting at her neck. She can’t help it though, she likes Sen a whole lot, he’s been like, the only boy to ever want to be around her because he wants to be around her and not just to land her or something.

The half breed’s thoughts are interrupted by a light knock at the door and she pulls her fingers away, sitting quickly up, “Yeah?”

Lyrian opens the door and smiles at her daughter before she turns and glances down the hall, shutting the door behind her. “Your father is sleeping, you did as I asked?”

“Yep, sure thing” Samara says, dropping her phone on the comforter besides her before standing and making her way to her closet. Sliding the doors open, the white and black haired teenager disappears inside momentarily while her mother seats herself down on the bed. “I’m going over to Sen’s tomorrow if that’s cool,” she says from within the closet, returning soon after with a small white bag in her grip. Making short work of the distance to her bed, she sits down next to the older Demon and holds out the item to her mother. Petite clawed fingers reach out to take the bag from the half breed, unable to mask the excitement showing in pretty features. Reaching inside, Lyrian pulls the small unwrapped white velvet box free and stares at it for a moment in confusion before her daughter snatches it out of her hands.

“Oops” Samara says as iridescent eyes meet red, “that one’s mine.”

“Sam…” Her mother starts before her eyes travel down to the small necklace at her neck. Reaching out suddenly, she slips clawed fingers under it and lifts it up, spending a moment to turn the bird and watch as the light reflects off tiny blue diamond stones. Red eyes meet Samara’s gaze a moment later and she raises an eyebrow, setting the necklace back against the half breed’s skin, “Mm-hm…”

“What?” Samara says, pulling her own fingers up to touch the small bird and shifting a little in her seat, “Sen gave it to me…”

“Oh?” The Demon asks.

“Yeah.” Samara nods with a smile as her mother reaches back into the bag to pull her own box free, “it’s a thank you gift for being his friend or something, isn’t it pretty?”

“That’s an awfully expensive looking ‘thank you’ gift Sam.” Lyrian smiles while slowly pulling the silver foil free, “are you sure this is the only message that boy intended when giving you this?”

Samara frowns, “Mom, as if.” Rolling her eyes, the white and black haired teenager sighs. “This is Sen we’re talking about. He’s like, totally not interested in me that way.”

“You sound so certain… males do not usually offer gifts such as this unless they have other intentions, and this is the first time since meeting him that I have heard you even mention going to his home…” Her mother chuckles as she slowly lifts the lid to her white velvet box. Reaching in to trace the lines of the patterned cuff, she smiles. “Perfect.” snapping it closed she places the box carefully back inside and sets it down next to her, “your father will love this…”

“Okay first of all mom, that-” She points to the bag, “is totally cheesy and second, again, Sen here, so yes I’m certain.” A small pout forms on her lips and she looks down, reaching out to play with the bedding. “I don’t get it though cause… like, for a whole fraction of a second I thought he might… I dunno what I thought actually… but.”

“But… what?”

Samara pulls her fingers away and sighs, iridescent eyes meeting red soon after, “But he always goes on about how he’s not interested in anyone at all and I know it was stupid for me to think it even if for a second because I’m totally not interested in him like that either. I mean we’re friends and I’ve never been able to just be friends with a boy like I am with Sen, but I still got all hopeful when he gave this to me and I don’t even know why…or what I was hoping even…”

The Demon smiles, shaking her head in the slightest, “I’m your mother Sam, do you really think I can’t see through that tough girl exterior you like to project? I think you know exactly what you were hoping… and in all honesty, from the looks of that-” Her gaze shifts to the pendant and she motions towards it before meeting her daughter’s eyes again, “he may favor you more than even he reali-”

“Okay mom, I don’t know what you are talking about, at all” Samara quickly interrupts, “and we are so not having this discussion cause that’s all kinds of ew. So just … no. Sen isn’t like that, seriously, he’s got to be the most non-normal boy I’ve ever met in my entire life and we’re just friends. End of story.”

Her words pull a small bout of amused laughter from the Demon’s lips. Shaking her head again, Lyrian rises to her feet and reaches out to comb messy strands of black streaked white away from her daughter’s eyes. “Have it your way then. You do know everything after all.” She chuckles, turning to move towards the door. “Keep that hidden for me just a while longer Sam, you know how sneaky your father can be when he suspects something and I would like this to remain a surprise…”

Samara smiles as her mother reaches the door, “You got it... and hey mom?” Lyrian stops with her fingers on the knob and looks behind her in question. The half breed hesitates for moment before continuing. “Do… do you think that maybe…Sen…” She stops, finding herself unable to continue because she’s not quite sure what she wants to say. “Nevermind…” She looks away and mumbles.

The older Demon merely smiles while sliding the door open, “He is a fine young man…” She muses before closing the door behind her, leaving the half breed alone.

Samara stares at the small white bag for a few moments before standing and scooping it free of her bed. Quickly placing it back into it’s hiding spot within her closet, the white and black haired teenager plops herself back down onto her bed with a loud sigh, long layered locks fanning around her as she falls back a moment later. Reaching up to touch the pendant once more, a light blush washes over her cheeks as her thoughts drift back to when Sen was placing it around her neck. Just having his fingers sweep through her hair sent a serious shiver down her spine and when he was so close she just wanted him to hold-

A frown forms on full lips and she pulls her hand away, turning onto her side and curling into a ball. GOD! What the hell was she thinking? This was Sen, Sen and he’s her friend, nothing more. Samara sighs again. Nothing more…

Sen paces nervously in the foyer as he waits for Samara to arrive. The driver left almost forty minutes ago, how long could it possibly take? The hybrid stops himself and walks over to one of the overstuffed chairs along the wall, plopping himself down. He didn’t even know why he was so nervous in the first place, it was just Samara. He’s spent practically every day with her since he started school.

A car pulls up to the front and Sen bolts out of his chair and to the door pushing it open before the service staff can ever get there. The driver gets out of the car and moves around to the back, pulling the door open for the half breed. Samara scoots to the edge of her seat and looks up at the huge stone building before her before grabbing her bag and exiting completely.

Sen smiles, she was wearing the necklace. The way she did her hair made her look really pre- he stops the thought before it even happens. He shouldn’t be thinking like that about her. The hybrid motions for her to come inside while the main doors are opened for them. They stand for a moment, while Sen thinks. He was so excited about her just coming over that he really did have no idea what they were going to do once she got here.

“So…?” Samara breaks the silence, expectant and excited iridescent eyes meeting clear crimson as she pulls her hand up to rest on her hips. “You gonna show me around this massive place or are we gonna hang out in this doorway that happens to be bigger than my room all day?”

“Uh… yeah. There are a lot of places I don’t think I can actually show you because people live there but I can take you everywhere else. A lot of this place is just sitting rooms and guest rooms. They all look the same. I can show you the kitchen and dining room when we eat. I want you to meet my fathers too. There is a bunch of cool stuff outside as well, a ton of guesthouses and statues and things.” He spins in place a little trying to figure out what he wants to show her first. “Damn, yeah… I guess I never realized just how much there is here… I guess we can start with my fathers since I know they are probably outside training still. I really want you guys to meet.”

Her eyes widen and she pulls her fingers up to her hair without thinking, trying to straighten out of place strands she’s sure are there and laughing a little nervously, “Okay cool, you lead the way then cause I have no clue where anything is.” Shit, why was she nervous all of a sudden? What if Sen’s dads don’t like her or she messes up and says something wrong. Aki sounded so laid back on the phone and from what Sen always said, he was, but his Father – the Founder of everything dealing with her dad’s work – the other teenager is always going on about how really strict he is and how hard it is to be around him. Dad’s always saying how un-lady like she is so what if they think that too and never let her come back? She’ll totally die.

If Sen notices her shifting, he doesn’t say anything. Instead he just turns and moves back out onto the stone porch, followed soon after by Samara as she’s led down the steps. Sliding her purse onto her arm, the half breed slips the tips of her fingers into her pants pockets, trying to mask the slight insecurity she’s feeling at the thought of meeting the hybrid’s fathers as she speaks, “This place is really huge. How many people live here anyway?” She turns her head and glances up to the mansion as they make their way around the building, “I actually think this is bigger than Central, seriously.”

Leading the way, Sen takes them out and around to the side of the mansion. “It’s a bit of a walk, they normally train near the woods border in the back. I’m not sure how many people actually live here. There are a bunch of part-time residents. Uncle Fuan is one of them and Tien Jen when they visit. People go in and out all the time.” He tries to think. “Right now it should only be Aunt Megumi, Kazuya, Uncle Ikkairius, Dad, Father and myself, Crane when he’s here... The service staff, most of them live here full-time. Aunt Saiyuri comes by on occasion.” He makes a face, he liked Saiyuri about as much as he liked his grandfathers. The hybrid was fully aware of how she treated Dad and all that business with Jun before he left the house. He hadn’t seen any of those three in a while and he’d be happy never to see them for a lot longer.

The sound of metal on metal reaches Sen’s ears as they walk farther from the building. Soon, two figures appear at the very edge of the tree line and the hybrid stops about twenty yards back and smiles to Samara. “Watch them, they kick so much ass.”

Iridescent eyes move away from the other teenager and to the pair moving nearly faster than she can track yards to their front. The half breed’s mouth falls partially open as she looks on in awe while the larger Demon dressed in black leather drops fluidly into a crouched squat just as the Selestarri’s blade flies centimeters from where his head had been a moment before. Severed white locks fall near heavily buckled boots as he slides the elongated katana back, planting his free hand in the autumn leaf covered grass to his front before pushing up just as Aki completes his movement and strikes forward.

Snow white plaits re-grow before his feet even touch the ground, the Eclipsed pulls his blade free of the grass and spins around, the loud clash of their weapons meeting ringing throughout the area as Jenova twists back in time to block. Fiery crimson meet burning gold and a sly smile spans pale lips momentarily before he pushes Aki back, spinning his katana in his grip once and beginning his own onslaught soon after. Metal meets metal time and time again as the Demon pushes the Selestarri with blow after blow.

Samara stands at Sen’s side, unable to take her eyes off his fathers while they continue to move, “holy shit…” She whispers before tilting her head towards the hybrid without looking away at the scene before her, “Okay this is nothing like what they teach us in school…”

Sen grins wide. “I know… considering this is who I learned to fight from; you can see why Weapons is a joke to me. Father’s been training Dad for the past thirty years or so and he still can’t get a good strike against him unless Father allows it so you can imagine how much I still suck compared to them.”

The two continue to watch for a few more minutes until the Hybrid catches Aki’s gaze finally, causing him to stop and recall his weapon. The Eclipsed smiles at the pair and begins walking forward as Jenova stands where he is. By the time Aki finally reaches them, the gold has already mostly drained from his eyes. Pushing ginger bangs from his vision, he looks down to the petite girl at Sen’s side.

“You must be Samara. It’s nice to finally meet you, Sen talks about you all the time. I’m Aki. We may have to actually walk over there to meet Jenova.” The Eclipsed motions back to the stationary Demon behind him.

“Okay you are way cuter in person than you sound on the phone-” Samara’s words slip out before she can stop them and her eyes widen, pulling her hand up to her mouth in embarrassment. Iridescent eyes quickly travel up to the hybrid at her side who’s looking at her like she’d said something foreign he was working to fully comprehend before traveling back to meet gold-shot blue, “I mean, um, ignore that… sorry.” She says, pulling her fingers away from her mouth and bowing in the slightest. “It’s nice to meet you too.”

Aki laughs at the half breed’s slipup while shaking his head at Sen’s confusion. “Come on…” Aki turns and begins to walk back to the Demon, looking over his shoulder. “I’ll introduce you to his other father.”

Sen decides he’s going to completely ignore what she just said… Dad is not cute. The Eclipse’s words finally register and he immediately becomes nervous. He really wanted Father to like Samara. Reluctantly, he follows Aki towards the Demon, grabbing the half breed’s arm and pulling her with him.

Now completely blue eyes meet Jenova’s clear crimson, catching the amusement in his gaze that he knows Sen doesn’t see. He shakes his head and the Demon lets a small smirk leave him. Stepping to the larger man’s side, Aki turns and faces the pair just as they step in close, speaking to Jenova. “This is Sen’s friend, Samara.” He looks down into nervous iridescent eyes. “Samara, this is Jenova, Sen’s other father. Your father works with him on the Council I am assuming?”

The teenager’s eyes meet the Demon’s only momentarily before quickly dropping the ground. Holy crap, okay he was way hot and all but oh my god he looks like he’s about to jump out and eat her alive. She stands her ground, despite feeling like she’d rather turn around and run for her life and swallows hard, trying to force her voice even. “It’s very nice to meet you.” Samara says as politely as she can manage, hoping beyond everything that the bad manners her daddy always says she has won’t show through and she won’t piss Sen’s Father off in some way, “Dad’s a Higher in Central and he’s mentioned you a whole lot.” Her eyes widen in the slightest and she continues rather quickly, “it’s always really good though.” A quiet nervous laughs escapes her as she keeps talking, “He says all the time how much you’ve done for them and how Central wouldn’t be what it is today if it hadn’t been for you and stuff…” Okay now she was babbling and she needs to shut up because she’s probably coming across like a retard or something. God this was harder than getting a lecture from her dad, Sen wasn’t kidding when he said Jenova was way worse.

Jenova merely stares at the girl even as her words trail before he turns and pulls glass like claws up to the Eclipse’s face to briefly comb the bangs from his eyes. Slipping his hand away, he turns and meets the hybrid’s gaze momentarily before moving past the two teenagers and back towards the mansion, speaking as he goes. “Interesting…”

Aki looks down at the half breed who appears to be a mix of shock and fear. He smiles at her. “Samara, you did fine, don’t worry about it.” His eyes travel up to Sen’s, who looks nervous as hell. “Both of you, stop worrying.” He chuckles before ruffling the hybrid’s hair and walking away to join Jenova.

Sen lets out a long breath and turns back to the other teen while fixing his hair. “Yeah, so that’s them. You can see why I talk to Dad a hell of a lot more than Father. He’s like that with everyone, even me. It’s just how he is. How Dad gets along with him so well I have no idea.”

Letting out an equally long breath, Samara sinks down into a squat, pulling her face against her knees. “Oh. My. God, he’s so scary. I seriously thought he was going to hit me or something…”

Sen stares down at the other teenager for a few moments, unsure of what to do before finally bending down to reach out and touch her shoulder, but before he can make contact the half breed’s head whips up and a large grin forms on full lips. “…So you talk about me ‘all the time’ huh?”

The hybrid stands up quickly, face flustering. “I-I do not… Dad always asks how school is going and you’re really the only one I spend time with so when I talk about stuff you come up… that’s probably all he means.” Sen really wants this conversation to change subjects now. “Father does that, he makes Highers nervous just by standing there. He’s got a long history of killing them when they mess with his shit. I think they finally got it through their heads that if they just don’t fuck with him, he’ll leave them alone.” Sen looks up when a drop of water hits his face and he groans. “Well, it looks like flying is out for today, it’s gonna rain. Storms get pretty bad out here so we should go inside. Come on, I’ll show you the kitchen and we can get some food.”

Samara scowls in the slightest when Sen changes the subject so abruptly before she sighs and stands. “I’m glad they finally got it. I swear – okay I love my dad and all and since I’m half I guess I gotta love my race but they are seriously retarded if they couldn’t get it to leave him alone. I got that instantly, he’s really good looking but Christ, your Father scares me like whoa Sen. He looked like he was pissed off at me just because I was alive and breathing his air or something…”

Iridescent eyes travel up when a few drops hit her as well and she smiles, reaching out to grab Sen’s hand. “Good because I’m hungry since I didn’t even get to eat breakfast before I left.” Samara breaks out in a run while dragging the hybrid along with her just as the rain begins to shift from a sporadic drizzle to a full on pour, “I don’t get up at the crack of dawn Sundays for just anyone you know so you better treat me good…”
