+ Angel Hunt ~ Streifen +
Chapter One: 08
He was glad he decided to sneak over last night, otherwise he would have probably kept himself up all night being worried and miserable. It really does upset him that he cares this much this soon but he can’t help it. Sleepy cerulean eyes look over at the clock and he finishes up his coffee a little quickly. If he wants breakfast, he’ll have to get going soon. The Eclipsed tosses off his boxers, walking to the shower and waiting as the water heats up. Turning, he looks at himself in the mirror before the steam starts to cloud the glass. All he sees is a scruffy teenager. Other than his linage, he really doesn’t see what’s so special about himself that someone like Jenova would notice him. Even then, the white haired man doesn’t really seem to care about what he is. He’s young, stubborn, inexperienced… there got to be tons of kids out there like him. Aki pulls his hair away from his face and looks at the healing bite wound. In a few days, it would be gone with only small traces of it ever existing left. Eventually it would heal fully without any evidence he’d ever been damaged. Normally he’s happy for their quicker healing, but with this… he doesn’t know, he kind of liked it there. A battle wound of sorts, in the loosest of terms. It reminded him of who put it there and anything that reminds him of the Headmaster made him happy right now. The teen smirks to himself, he’s getting a bit attached rather soon. Pushing the thoughts from his mind, he steps into the shower.
![]() The white haired teenager snorts as a wide yawn graces his friend’s features, sliding a hand over to knock Jun lightly on the arm in a way that pulls a frown to his lips. “Knock it off.” He says quietly. “I hate getting up so early in the morning. Why are the hours so insane?” “Because unlike you, princess” Taz smirks. “the rest of the world doesn’t need so much beauty sleep.” Jun blinks, the lightest of flustered looks crossing his face in a way that causes his friend to laugh. But before he can open his mouth to answer, the Angel suddenly lifts his arm and yells as he catches sight of Aki in the entrance of the dining hall room. Pink eyes shift over to see a flash of ginger weaving through the crowd towards them. “Hey!” Aki calls out with a smile as he makes his way on over towards Taz and the matching crown of white hair next to him. He’s seen most of the others the Angel hangs out with so the teen can only assume this is the best friend Taz has been talking about. He slides through a couple students, coming to a stop at their fronts. “You know, I might actually make it to class today.” He chuckles as he turns to the other teenager, holding his hand out to shake. “Hi, I’m Aki. I’m new here.” He gets something faint from him but it’s underlying. Not so much that he’s human but more the absence of what he really is. The white haired teen blinks, spending a moment looking between his best friend and the ginger haired second year before pink eyes shift up towards the hand that’s being held out. He hesitates a moment before reaching out to shake a very quick shake, his words almost lost in the buzz of the morning crowd. “Um… Jun.” pulling his hand away and dropping early dawn hued eyes, he pushes back in his seat and stands. “I’m going to go to class.” He says quietly while lifting his book bag from his chair. “S’nice meeting you.” And with that, he turns and hurries off to leave both alone. Cerulean eyes shift over to meet silver that are still plastered on the back of his friend’s head before he sighs and shakes his head. “…Okay.” Shifting his gaze over to finally meet the Selestarri’s, he smiles with a shrug. “Yeah, so my best friend. You’ll have to excuse him, he’s a bit… shy.” Aki blinks. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know I’d upset him. It wasn’t my intent.” He wants to ask what he is and why his eyes are pink but Taz has always seemed so protective of his friend when he’s spoken with him so he decides to let it be. He doesn’t want to butt in where he’s not wanted. The ginger haired teen slides himself into a chair. “Oh, you were right…” The Eclipsed smiles. “I went and talked to him last night. It was just a misunderstanding. Thankfully I found out without having to come right out and ask.” Very thankfully. He doesn’t want to become annoying and outwardly insecure to the Headmaster. A smile reforms on the Angel’s lips and he reaches across the table to smack Aki on the arm. “Hey, good to hear it.” Sliding his arm back, he sets his elbows down and sets his chin in his hands. “So… what was it then? Just miscommunication like I said huh?” a soft chuckle passes from in-between the second year’s lips. “usually is like I said. Take my friend there-“ he nods in the direction Jun had been. “never talks much, too shy – so it’s easy for misunderstandings to happen a lot. You said your… uh… guy never says much, that sort of happen when the other side keeps to themselves.” “He says things…” Aki starts. “But he never says things straight out. It’s always some sort of game or riddle I have to figure out. It’s like he expects me to know what he’s thinking and saying without being able to know what he’s thinking or saying. It’s infuriating, actually. But his actions speak pretty fucking clear.” Yeah, like flying him to America for a fucking cheeseburger. “I think it might just be that he’s older and obviously more experienced in things than I am. Maybe it’s just something I’ll get with time.” Taz quirks an eyebrow slightly. “Barely a week in this country and you already hooked up with someone, not only someone, but an older guy.” He pulls his elbows away from the table and leans back in his chair with a slight chuckle. “Your kind seems kind of… forward.” A fact he’s now dealing with when it comes to Jun since that blonde who’s been sniffing about is all up in his face about his friend a lot as of late. “... so is it like that where you guys come from? Or is it just something that happens when you come here?” “Huh?” The Ginger haired teen looks a little confused. “I’m actually not forward. I’ve never been in any sort of relationship before. If it were up to me, I would have gone a lot slower…” But circumstances around Jenova don’t seen to go that way. “My kind…” He supposes Taz wouldn’t know general Selestarri etiquette. “I suppose we can be taken as forward among humans, but I don’t generally subscribe to what my people do. I’m not really sure how to explain it. This wasn’t me, exactly, I didn’t go after him like that. It just kind of happened. I can’t speak for anyone else though.” Taz shrugs with a smile. “I guess it’s your new guy that’s forward then... which… seems kind of wrong considering you’re a kid-“ he stops, a questioning look painting his features. “wait, how old are you anyway? Cause uh…” silver eyes glance around briefly. “considering what you are, I have no idea how you guys age or anything. You don’t look any older than fifteen or sixteen, but, well, speaking from experience, I know looks can be deceiving.” He smirks. “I’m sixteen.” Aki confirms. “We age as humans until around now, then it slows considerably. I won’t be considered an adult until my late forties.” Considering The Headmaster was definitely an adult, he guesses it does look a bit wrong and while the Eclipsed thought that himself as well, the white haired man kind of can’t be resisted. “I know absolutely nothing about your kind. You’re the first I’ve met or heard of. How old are you? Since you don’t look much older than me.” The white haired Angel blinks before laughing softly right after. “If you’re actually sixteen then I’m… a lot older.” More than a lot, he probably has a few thousand years on Aki considering how long he’d been in containment himself. “My kind don’t… really grow much-“ the understatement of the year. “-these-“ he lifts his hand up and points at his eyes before lowering it again. “-about the only thing showing our age really. I’m still young for my kind, not as young as you, but young enough. It’s kind of convoluted and long, but I was about one seventy, before I came here anyway. Pretty young, but fairing better than a lot of the others. Most don’t make it past the first wing color change.” He snorts. Aki looks at the Angel a little dumbfounded. One hundred and seventy, that’s most of a Selestarri’s lifespan. “Yeah, then I’m really young compared to you.” Now he has so many questions. “What… are you doing here then?” Unless it’s for the same reason he is, to find out more about the Headmaster, though he hasn’t really seemed interested in him beyond a passing question. “If you don’t mind me asking…” Of course, Taz may ask the same thing in return, of which he can’t answer. “I’m just… I don’t know anything but I’m really curious. What color wings do you have, are they white like biblical Angels?” “Yeah, mine are white.” Taz says with a snort. “Humans kind of… have that whole thing wrong about us.” Like they wouldn’t believe. He’s not even sure that what the humans have down as ‘Angel’ is even something stemmed from them and sometimes it makes him wonder where they did get all that stuff from or how the hell they got it in their heads that his kind even give a crap about their existence beyond using them whenever they happen to need it. “no surprise really since humans are all so …” he glances around at the dining hall and shakes his head before looking back. “you know, I mean come on –you and I are sitting here in the middle of a room full of humans talking about what we really are and you think any of these kids pay attention enough to actually get it?” he shakes his head. “Just their nature I guess.” Sitting back again, Taz crosses his arms beneath his chest and sighs. “You asked why I’m here? I told you already, I’m here to keep an eye on someone I care about and make sure he stays out of trouble.” Which is something his best friend has little trouble doing… or did until that asshole blonde showed up “what about you? I know the others are here trying to get the scoop on what my people are up to, frankly I don’t care since I’m not a part of it but five of you guys now seems a bit much.” Aki points in the direction Jun had gone. “Him? I didn’t think he was human but I wasn’t sure.” The teen shakes his head as he looks down at his hands. “I was sent for something, but it has nothing to do with you guys. I didn’t even know Angels existed until I met you. I have no idea what the others are doing here. Like I said, I didn’t know they were here.” Which, if any of them are Bright, he’s probably going to be having some words with the Oracle. He doesn’t care what the Dark do but it would have been common courtesy to at least tell him there were other Bright walking around. Cerulean eyes look back up. “A week in and I think I’ve gone rogue already.” He chuckles. “What I was sent to do… some complications came up that make that nearly impossible right now so while I could just go back home, I have other reasons for staying.” He wants to see where things go with Jenova. “Oh… I had wanted to ask ever since you first told me. If there are Angels, does that mean there are Demons too?” Aki already knows the answer, but he wants to hear it from a different source to help him get down to the truth of what the Headmaster really is. “Yeah…” Taz starts quietly. “But you won’t find any of them here as far as I know. My kind don’t… really get along with them too well.” Don’t get along is putting it mildly. Back home they basically lived to kill them, something of which he’s been a little thankful for not having to do since he’d been pulled out of containment and sent here with Jun. “It’s a big thing that’s been going on forever between our people.” He shrugs. “a lot of politics and stupidity if you ask me. But I try to stay as out of it as I can.” The white haired Angel stops and looks around, noticing the fact that the dining hall has started clearing out before looking down at his watch. “Shi- looks like we got busy talking, first bell’s going off in about twenty.” Sliding out of his chair, he stands and smiles at the Eclipsed. “you want to eat, you better do it quickly, we can talk more later.” Taz steps around the table, stopping just as he reaches Aki’s side. “Hey, just one thing though. Jun… it’s complicated, but he doesn’t know. About me, you… or himself, so keep all this between us okay?” reaching out, he pats the ginger haired teen on the shoulder and walks off towards the entrance, easily weaving through the crowd along his way. Aki nods as the white haired Angel wanders off. He had basically filled himself with coffee and he’s pretty sure nothing they have is going to compare to the real bagels he had yesterday morning. The ginger haired teen sighs, completely oblivious to all the looks he receives as his mind wanders on Jenova. He wonders what would happen if Taz met the Headmaster. He doesn’t think Taz would be a threat but he also didn’t think the Angel was a hundred and seventy years old. Now he really wonders how old the white haired Demon is . In human terms he doesn’t look older than his mid thirties. He also wants to know what’s up with Jun not knowing what he is. Hopefully Taz will volunteer some of that information because he’s not going to pry. The Selestarri’s stomach grumbles and he decides that maybe he should try and eat. Rising from his chair, he wanders over to grab some food before it gets too late.
