Dislikes: Harming innocents
Family/Relationships/Past: Son of a soldier, worked his own way up through Io’fayl’s ranks until she took notice of how quickly this was happening and took interest in him. She invited him to become her Harbinger and lead general of her armies and he gladly accepted. The two became lovers, [though he was never in love with her], and he would follow her bidding while still maintaining a small amount of defiance that kept Io’fayl from completely taming him. Once Io’fayl asked him to harm innocents during one of her plans to cut supplies to the Western territories by taking out the farming communities, he flatly refused. Angered and hurt by his defiance, Io’fayl ordered him to be executed in hopes it would force him to change his mind. He never did and she was forced to go through with the execution or risk the loyalty of her entire army. Mithghiiel was willing to die for his beliefs but Gran’hein, [Mithghiiel’s traveling blacksmith at the time and close friend], along with a few others, devised a plan to execute another in his place. He reluctantly accepted the help and shed everything that would mark him as a solder minus his longsword.
Several villagers witnessed the entire ordeal, but one in particular felt very grateful for what he had done. El’lehana offered him a place to stay until he could figure out where he would go from there. The two spent many long nights talking and grew very fond of each other. Even though she kept him hidden away in secret for his own protection, he decided to being courting her properly for several months until the she accepted his proposal and the two decided to travel to the Eastern coast where he grew up to start their own family. Along the way, El’lahna became pregnant and gave birth to a son shortly after they arrived in the town of N’taiya. Mithghiiel quickly became a respected member of the community and spent his days working to help those around him.
Mithghiiel raised Kso’ppghiel as a normal child until the age of five when he brought his sword out again for the first time since he had shed his armor, determined to prepare his son for any path he may choose in life. He told his son about his life as a soldier, but never about the woman he had served. About six years later his wife became pregnant again but died tragically in childbirth, leaving Mithghiiel heartbroken and with a new daughter to raise. He put his grieving aside, taking a piece of her horn and wings and fitting them to the hilt of his sword so he would always have a part of her close to him. Mithghiiel raised his children with the help of the community he had spent so many years helping himself. Despite the loss of the one he loved most, he continued to lead a life that made him happy, always proud of his children.
He eventually had a duplicate of his sword made by the son of the man who made his, Neir’hein, gave it to Kso’ppghiel shortly before Io’fayl had sent a raiding party to begin taking out the farming communities of the Eastern coastal territories. Mithghiiel was slain by a Ranga attempting to hold one off to allow his children to escape. His daughter E’nerii was also killed. He was buried next to his wife and daughter by his son who followed suit by taking a piece of both of them to place on his own sword and who now keep both Mithghiiel’s and his own sword close to him always.
Associations: Father to Kso'ppghiel and En'rii. Once served as Queen Io'fayl's Harbinger and general to her armies for years before Kso'ppghiel was born. Died during an attack on his village when Kso'ppghiel was 17.
